Hybrid 2

Hybrids

I am interested in how living systems adapt to rapid environmental change. Drawing on the mythological chimera — a being of mixed species — I create images of hybrid figures that embody resilience, regeneration, and new forms of life. I imagine speculative environments where humans and plants evolve simultaneously and in new iterations.

Intricate, adaptive, and resilient, the human form, much like a plant, responds to the rhythms of nature: shifting with the seasons, enduring wind, drought, flood, and fire. These worlds explore a return to—and a reimagining of—the ancient, symbiotic connection between flora and fauna.

This curiosity compels me to create a cast of characters, leading an ongoing journey through narratives filled with surprise, contrast, and unexpected juxtapositions. I find joy in discovering and designing new forms and relationships, immersing myself in detailed craft, and rejoicing in the sensuality of painterly expression.

It's the decorative elegance of natural shapes, the music of color, and the poetic collision of visual elements, that compels me to create an inexhaustible assortment of characters and worlds.
